I have 8 gig of DDR 3 memory now, if I add 8 more will it be beneficial or wasted money? Should I just replace my video card instead w/one with 2 or 3 gig of memory? ROF is the only sim I play since CLOD is so cloddish. And they're doing a sequel of it.

Hmmm.... hard to say for sure without knowing the rest of you system specs. I assume you're running a 64 bit version of W7...what cpu, which graphics card, MB etc.
I went from 6 Gig to 12 a few months ago, leaving everything else as it was. I didn't notice any real change in the performance of ROF ( and I didn't really expect to....) but what I did notice was that it was easier for the system to run ROF. I saw lower usage rates for memory and cpu. So I think it was a good thing, in effect spreading the workload into more memory. But, if I'd had a bottleneck somewhere else, like for instance an old graphics card or a slow processor, I probably would have gotten different results. I've always believed that when RAM is cheap, more is better. This is, however, absolutely free advice....
