Just wanted to say hello and, I hope, welcome to the Black Haze, if you choose us; I had not heard that it's official or anything so I wanted to make my pitch for our unit. I'm writing here because the other thread is mainly for introductions and I'm sure everyone has so much to say it will get long there.
I've heard already that you're quite good, but wanted to let you know that doesn't matter to us in the least. Maybe we can help you get better if you feel you have some areas you'd like to improve on; all you have to do is ask any one of us about any specific aspect of the game you'd like to work on. Even though we represent two squadrons we are all one big group that flies together regardless, and I really don't know who is in what group unless I check the roster page.
As a Central squadron in RoF we are underdogs in most areas, as is any squadron representing the Central side. On open servers we do fly both sides, both to keep the balance of players more even, and to gain insight into what the other side's strengths and weaknesses are. This allows us to enjoy the entire game and keeps things challenging. We are often successful at accomplishing goals against tougher conditions or odds than other online players would deem possible or probable.
Obviously we often fail to overcome the odds but we accept the inherent inequalities that this game imposes upon us. We hope you'll enjoy the challenge and stick around with us, and get to know us. Weekends and especially Sundays seem to be pretty popular as informal times for us to meet up and fly together. The TeamSpeak viewer at the bottom of this site is a great tool to see when somebody is online. I hope you've already been given the particulars for our squadron TS server. If so, never fail to get on that channel even, or especially, when you're alone; don't wait until you see somebody. Others will see you and join up, I guarantee that, during the times that they're available to fly; or just talk about things, work on things, whatever you want.
We are all looking forward to having a lot of fun with you, Razwald! BH-Salute!
