Well... pretty much my whole life looking at these...
P-40... can't tell the version, I am guessing an E or K model. 38 is a valid number for the CATF.. but Tex please forgive me, I can't remember whose ship that was.
P-51D... d for DUH... everyone knows it... but did you notice the canopy is enlarged for a back seat. Flew one for 6 months and many thousands of dollars. Checked out by Al Sherrill in 1982 after flying Linda Finch's T-6 (817) before she replicated Amelia Earhardts flight.(and got indicted for fraud.. string of nursing homes in the RGV.
J-3 Cub *note the small tires that came on it.. not the ones you see in AK. For extra points.. why don't you tap the brakes after take-off on the high flotation gear?
F4U-4 noted by the 4 blade prop. Not a G (Goodyear) with the "corncob"

A-26 Looks like a COIN bird... Counter Insurgency SEA. My buddy Co. R.E. Duke US ARMY his dad was killed in one flying COIN missions in SEA.

A-7 Corsair II trivia... the pilot relief tube vents just behind the nose gear.. so if your chief is pulling the chocks... don't piss on him. (hated that plane)
F-84 ThunderStreak... so.. HOW DO you tell a ThunderFlash from a ThunderStreak. (Col Jim Humphries, and Col Rex O'Connor... two buddies of mine flew these out of Selfridge...which has a HUGE hump in the runway, when you are taking off you can't see the other end.. and there are a million seagulls on the damn thing. (Did you notice TANG markings???)

Sorry guys... on my third whiskey and this is pretty much my whole life... when you were getting married and having kids and doing things, I was at the base, or field, or whatever and this was all I knew, talked about, and noticed... still pretty much the same today. Still want back in the cockpit, I get to fly now and then as buddies come through town... but dammit... I EARNED it. !@#%^ing doctors.

uh...what Ludgwig said. I noticed the Westland Lysander, famous for dropping spies into France and other occupied countries at night. The British Fiesler Storch, I suppose. Gotta agree with Ludwig about the "stupid paint scheme" opinion on the P-38. This is some nice museum.

I put the Tigermoth in specifically to see if anyone could read... Not a P-51, more correctly a TF-51D due to the dual cockpit. The Waco is is an EGC-8.
Wing, which plane are your looking at? They don't have a Lysander listed...
It is a cool museum.. I didn't even take pics of the old cars and military vehicles.

(hated that plane) T-28, Always regretted not going to VT-6 to fly those, instead choosing the T-34C at VT-3. Heck I was 22, and who wants to fly that old leaking (if they weren't you had problems) T-28 with that big R-1820 engine.... Raises hand now...
Got to disagree on the A-26, it might be a B-26 soft nose as they were known, officially known as the B-26 from Korea on word...After conversion to Counter Insurgency SEA, they had 3 blades square tipped props. Ok I looked: A-26C 44-35493 N576JB D War Eagles Air Museum, Santa Teresa, New Mexico[3] Still with the soft nose I would call it a B-26. My dad served as gunner on these during Korea. They attempted to get him to come back to them for Nam, it was volunteer transfer, so I can't repeat publically what his answer was.
A-7 Every Naval Aviator, I have ever spoken to, loved that aircraft.
Where are the damn Helos!!! Only one from the ceiling and too far away to make out, but looks like an early Little bird, OH6 Kiowa?

Awesome pictures vG, thanks for sharing. The USMC came up for Seafair (Seattle's Summer festival) this last weekend and I got a couple snapshots myself: First time I've ever seen an Osprey in person before. I talked to the pilot and he told me the thing was surprisingly maneuverable for a cargo-plane. He mentioned that in his last sortie in Afghanistan they thought they were being engaged, pulled hard back on the stick, and the g-load alone broke the loadmaster's leg in the back of the plane. YIKES. Bad day at the office.

The V-22 is one of the most under rated and least understood/appreciated aircraft of all time. One of my closest friends (Jake you remember ol FOX...) his dad was a lead design engineer on the Osprey and just retired recently from BELL and received a lifetime achievement award. I have spent many evenings talking with "dad" about his machine. He holds patents on the AH-1 (what a machine) and the UH-1 as well. What a career, what a concept, what a machine... and it's FAST!

V-22, One of my first department heads was the project manager for OPNAV back in the day. He had some great video of the XV-15.
At Smyrna Airport this past weekend.
Unfortunately I saw this as I was driving past the airport and they were closing for the day. I was tied up the next day. They didn't do well advertising, too bad.
