is crap. I was hoping to be in the 50 percentile of those who don't have any problems with them. Instead I'm in the 100 percentile, the unit didn't work 100%, didn't even get one revolution from the fan, DOA. I don't understand it, it has these bitchin graphics which should guarantee a record breaking unit. It's a broke unit is all it is. I bet the graphics are lead based.
Now to dance the dance of the RMA.

Sorry to hear that. I used a Thermaltake power supply for years with never an issue. I gave it to somebody else when I had to get more amperage and it's still working well.

Well, Hawkeye warned me that there was a 50 % failure rate with that particular model. If I was a younger man I'd still be fuming, but with old age comes the Oh well attitude. As it is it's a Thermaltake 450 pushing the power for my system, to include a GTX 650. Seems to be holding its own, even without the graphics , go figure.

It's just there is a reputation and problem with their dirt cheap or lower end models in recent times; they are trying to undercut other MFG's in the low end market and are now just re-branding (putting their name on) cheap Chinese units that, even if they do work, apparently don't meet the specs they're advertised with; hence the reviews they're getting.
Like Kestrel I have 2 machines in my household now with the Thermaltake Toughpower 1200 Watt "cable management" (fully modular) series. I have run 3 high-powered video cards simultaneously with no problems. As in all cases, you get what you pay for. Occasionally though, the really outstanding deal does appear and that's what the original post was for. S!
