Excellent concise documentary. I think this is a clip from a longer film I saw many years ago in the 1960's when I was younger. Back at that time TV was still running films from the early 20th century as fillers and it was not to far removed from the actual event.
Additionally, there were many WW1 flying plastic model kits in 1/48th scale available at this time for the same reason; not to far removed from the actual event. These kits cost $.98 plus tax. There were also the 18" rubber band powered balsa and tissue WW1 models for $1.50. If I could go back in time I would buy as many as I could and save them. I remember we only had to return 54 pop bottles (to the grocery store @ 2 cents a bottle) from the construction sites in the area to earn enough to buy a model. Ahhh, for the days when a kid could get by on his own devices.
