Just ordered my new rig today..Hoping it will satisfy upcoming gaming requirements for next 3-4 years....Anyone see any conflicts with this build and RoF?

Looks like it should stomp RoF pretty good. I'd say the Asrock mobo is the only weak link in the chain, they're considered budget kit (a reliability/longevity issue more than performance).

Hmmm... my system seems puny in comparison; but I have note from my wife that says it's OK for me to play with the bigger boys! ASUS P5Q with P45 chipset Intel E8600 Core 2 Duo @3.33GHz, OC @ 4.25GHz with Cooler Master CPU Cooler Hyper N520 Corsair DDR2 4 x 1GB, 667 MHz 1)Seagate Barracuda 7200 SATA 3Gb/s 80GB, 2)Seagate Barracuda 7200 SATA 3Gb/s 320GB, Non-RAID NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti, 1GB GDDR5, Factory OC @970mhz GPU clockspeed HannsG 19" LCD monitor, 1440 x 900 @75hz ModXStreme-Pro 600W Modular Power Supply TrackIR 3Pro with Vector Expansion & Hat-clip running Version 5.1 software Win XP Pro (32 bit) SP3 MS FFB2 Joystick (USB) Saitek Rudder Pedals Internet: DSL 6.1Mbs down / 1.5 Mbs up Mercedes Benz 799cc 3-cylinder Diesel CDI 42HP errr...oops, sorry! that last one's my car; a 2005 Smart Pulse Coupe (I'm a cheap bastard - it gets approx 60 miles/US gal.) Issues: moderate to high settings (not max) gives fairly smooth play, but sound quality set to low (maybe I should get a PCI sound board, rather than use on-board sound). I have Post Effects turned off and still get blood & oil. When I am severely wounded, my peripheral vision does get limited, but doesn't blur as much. I can still actually see a bit (hope that's not considered cheating). Dudley

Hi all. If you could do it again or get the best you could what would be different from above.. Motherboard MFG, model and chipset.. ETC. Nice digs. It's a good point; always get the best you can afford since it will be obsolete all too soon anyway. The one thing I'd do differently is to buy a modular power supply. I've got a really nice Corsair unit with quality shielded cables, but there are a lot of them and it's a pain to store them in the case. Storing them actually covers one of my available fan ports. (fortunately there are plenty...) It would be better to just plug in new ones when I need them. If money had been no object at the time, I'd have gotten a way cooler case and faster memory too, but I really have nothing to complain about. Welcome to the forum. specs for reference: Corsair TX750W 750W Power Supply Intel Core i7-920 2.68Ghz 8M LGA1366 CPU Patriot Viper 6144MB PC10666 DDR3 1333MHz - 2 sets for 12 GB EVGA X58 SLI LE Intel X58 Socket LGA1366 MB Samsung 22X DVDRW SATA CoolerMaster CM690 Black ATX Case SLI Ready Sabrent CRW-UINB 7-Slot USB 2.0 Internal Memory Card Reader & Writer Ultra ULT40476 Aluminus USB 2.0 Hub – 4 Port Corsair CWCH50-1 Hydro H50 CPU Liquid Cooler - 120mm Fan, Copper Cold Plate, Aluminum Radiator 2x 140mm Coolermaster fans 2x 120mm Coolermaster Fans 1x 80mm fan Logitech G700 gaming mouse EVGA 01G-P3-1366-TR GeForce GTX 460 SE (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 WD Green 500 GB HD, 7200rpm WD 320 HD, 7200 rpm Dual boot- W7 64 bit or XP Pro SP3
