Not sure if there are too many of us in here that will find this particularly exciting, but it is news none the less. "Pre-order Hanriot and Enjoy the Sale"Initial stats suggest it is faster than any German scouts we have from the same time period, and it is supposed to be very maneuverable. I'm expecting it to be something between a Pup and a Camel in terms of performance. Hopefully we will hear rumors of a new German scout before the end of the year, as that has been the pattern in releases past.

Been looking forward to that one. I like flying both sides. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em Thanks!

I guess if I was a cynical jerk I would say it's the Sopwith Strutter with a new graphic. The Strutter was a little slower than the Hanriot but I am sure they can fix that. They were both offered in a single seat and 2 seat version, the Hanriot came out a little later which meant that by the time it was available it was competing with the Spad VII... so it was sold off to other countries. It generates more revenue for RoF so maybe that will help keep them interested in the franchise a little longer.

That's a pretty broad statement I guess; the HD-1 is most similar to the N17/N23/N24/N27 Neiuports, just more strongly built. As for the French command choosing SPADs over that kind of plane, it probably had as much to do with standardization as anything else. I'm sure a lot of French pilots would have chosen it over a SPAD, if in fact the SPAD in RoF had even some of the faults that it had in real life, not the least of which would include severe synchronizer/gun jamming on the earlier ones, cooling problems on the earlier ones, and reduction gear problems on the later ones...none of which would have been a problem on the Hanriot.
To be honest, I never knew the HD-2 existed until now, but I applaud their decision to include the variants. They should have done that with every plane they made; maybe they'll start a new policy.

I had a Rumbler once....it was a Harley-Davidson Agreed we need a ton of aircraft, everybody knows that. At this rate the job will never be done. If they did give you a "Rumbler", it probably wouldn't be any better than any other German 2-seater. It would still be slow and probably wouldn't climb very fast. In theory it would be able to climb to 22,000 feet or even higher; but that would be of no use to you in this game, where the ability to take detailed pictures at that height, counts for nothing. That was their true value.

Very valid points, that being the case how about a German F-104 talk about your boom and zoom. :-)
